Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of family on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at the age of 58.
Beloved wife of Kip Panayiotou for 34 years.

Dear sister of Mark Davis.
Mel had a heart of gold. Family and the friends that became family were the most important things to Mel. She loved openly and freely. Gatherings were held at Mel and Kip’s home more often than not. Everyone was welcomed and made to feel like they belonged there.
Mel was never one to back down from trying new things especially within the fashion world. Mel’s hair has almost been all the colours under the rainbow. To honour Mel’s way of life please feel free to wear bright, colourful clothing (as the family will be).
Mel lived life to the beat of her own drum and was not scared to push the envelope. She lived a full life and her biggest wish is that everyone who knew her will do that same.
Mel’s family would like to thank all the staff at the Grand River Cancer Centre and the Lisaard House. The care Mel received was exceptional.
Mel’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 3:30 – 5:30 pm at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467.
A private family Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, November 29th, 2021 at 10:30 am in the chapel of the funeral home.

Please use the RSVP system to register for the visitation. Masks are mandatory.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program or Lisaard / Innisfree House – Hospice would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home). One of Mel’s holiday traditions was gathering socks for donation, please feel free to bring a pair of new socks to the visitation if you would like to donate.
