Obituary of Melba Clarke
It is with great sadness that the family of Melba Joyce Clarke, wife of the late Glendon Leonard Clarke, announces her passing on November 15, 2021, at the Loch Lomond Villa, surrounded by her family. Born in Saint John on January 18, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Emery and Jennie Helma (Goddard) Northrup.
Melba will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Brenda (Jesse) Tremblay, Wendy Hughes and adopted son, Reggie Reid (Tammy); grandchildren: Clay (Stacie) Tremblay and Shannon Tremblay (Jeremy Wilson); great-grandchildren: Brandon Tremblay (Madelynn Ryan), Haley Tremblay, Bradley Tremblay, and Lucas Tremblay; sister: Dodie Belyea (late Dan); very special niece Linda Turner, as well as several other nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband Leonard, Melba was predeceased by her brothers: Percy (late Margaret) Northrup, Ralph Northrup, infant brother Wendall, and Malcolm (Kay) Northrup; as well as sister: Marion (late Allan) Murphy.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In keeping with Melba’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations can be made to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice. A special thank you to the caring staff at the Loch Lomond Villa (Elm House).
