Obituary
Melanie Dawn Sienema, 48, of Edmonton, Alberta pasted away in a tragic accident on August 14, 2021. She was born February 02, 1973 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
She is lovingly remembered by her 4 children, Sarah (Kurtis) Stanley, Abigail Bilsky, Joseph Bilsky and Grace Bilsky; her mother, Diane Scott; her father, Pier Sienema; her brother Henry (Katie) Sienema; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Melanie was very excited to welcome her first grandchild into the world, and her granddaughter, Avery Melanie, was born 3 days after her passing. It has been said that she simply couldn’t wait any longer to meet Avery and was called to deliver her safely.
Melanie was filled with endless love and compassion for her family and friends. Her thoughtfulness and care for others never wavered. Melanie struggled with bi-polar disorder, but once diagnosed, did all she could to learn how to live the most balanced life possible. She worked hard at not having this disorder define her, raising 4 beautiful children and having to work much of the time. She always maintained her fun loving spirit with Kermit the Frog as a close buddy, as well as a love for music, plants and critters whether that be a dog, cat, fish or frog.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm, Monday, September 20th, 2021 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, (10011 – 114 Street NW, Edmonton, AB.) with Rev. Heather Koots officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Melanie’s memory can be made to the Mental Health Foundation, in particular, to their Day Hospital or Brain Stimulation programs.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Melanie Sienema 2021..
