Behan, Matthew John
November 4, 1962 – December 16, 2021
Peacefully at home with his sister and his brother-in-law at his side on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Matt Behan, in his 60th year, beloved son of the late Ron and Mary Behan. Best loved brother of Kerri-Vaughan Lynch (Tom) of Ottawa and the late Rachel, Greg and Brendan. Special uncle to Ryan Lynch of Ottawa. Matt was a speech writer for the Canadian Advisory Council on the Status of Women and was much loved and respected by his colleagues. He was a marathon runner, a cyclist and a hiker, a lover of life and of his many friends. Matthew will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched. A celebration of Matt’s life will be held at St. Patrick’s Basilica, 220 Kent Street, Ottawa on Wednesday December 22, 2021 at 10am followed by interment at Hope Cemetery. In keeping with current COVID protocols the family requests that those attending be fully vaccinated. Attendance in-person is limited and guests must RSVP in advance on this website using the link provided below. The service will also be livestreamed and can be viewed on this page using the link below this notice. In lieu of flowers or donations the family suggests that you perform an act of kindness in Matt’s memory.
“Guys, get your prostate checked”, love Matt
