Obituary of Mary Aarts
Mary became an Angel on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the age of 60. Mary was born in Strathroy, Ontario to John (Deceased) and Diane Aarts on December 9, 1960. Much loved sister of Frances, Helmy and Dave, Dianne, Lennie and Judy, Pete and Anita and Pauline and Mike. She will be dearly missed by her 15 nieces and nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews.
Mary excelled as a student at Lorraine Central School in Port Colborne. She spent time working at N-Tec and Clay Hut. She spent most of her adult life living with her mother and treasured the shopping trips with her mother, with the Dollar Store as her favourite. She learned to swim well, representing Niagara District at the Canadian Special Olympics and attended a swimming competition on Florida. Mary was accomplished at knitting, crocheting and needle point. She learned to play the piano, was an avid bowler and played bocce ball.
The family extends sincere thanks to Community Living- Port Colborne and Wainfleet, especially everyone at the 31 Delhi Group Home. Also, special thanks to the Palliative Care Team and Dr. Scher at the Port Colborne Hospital for their care and compassion.
Arrangements entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. Due to COVID restrictions, there will be a private family Funeral Service in the Armstrong Chapel and interment will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery.
