Hiuser, Mary Martha:
Peacefully at Hanover and District Hospital on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, Mary Martha Hiuser, of The Village of Hanover, formerly of Kitchener and born in Mildmay, in her 95th year, has joined her beloved Ken.
Loving mother of David (Pat) Hiuser, Lori (Ray) Copeland all of Kitchener and Carol (Fred) Geisel of Elmwood. Loving Nana of Christina Hiuser and Terri-Lynn Hiuser-Copeland and great-grandma of Zach and Shawnna. Dear sister of Edmund (the late Rita), Mary will be lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Norma Hiuser and Irene Rose. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Ken Hiuser and their infant son Daniel. Also predeceased by her parents Henry and Mary (Perius) Bergman of Mildmay and brothers and sisters Francis (Olive) Bergman, Estelle (George) Burns, Benjamin Bergman, Florence (Ed) Norris, Jerome (Mary) Bergman, Rita (Lawrence) Rawski, Clarence (Josephine) Bergman, Gerard (Barb) Bergman.
Mary enjoyed traveling. She especially enjoyed her and Ken’s driving trips out west, her trips to « Tara » with her daughter Lori and granddaughter Christina and to the Dominican Republic with her daughter Carol. Mary also loved being included on boat tours and day trips and even walked the Bruce Trail to Skinners Bluff at age 79. Mary was a longtime fan of the Blue Jays and welcomed every opportunity to watch them play. Always active, she was a league 10 pin bowler for years and a decades long volunteer with St. Mary’s Hospital, Meals on Wheels, Seniors Centre, CWL. Mary was always supportive of her children and grandchildren and enjoyed witnessing their activities and achievements. She loved her pussy cats, enjoyed playing cards, sharing good times with friends and family and was a devoted church member. She will be truly missed.
Mary’s family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 to 10:50 a.m. on Friday, June 18 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Liturgy will be in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m., burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery. Those wishing to attend must RSVP by visiting the funeral home website or by telephone. Anyone who will be attending the chapel service are welcome to attend the graveside service.
