Obituary
Peacefully on January 27, 2021 at West Park Manor in Winnipeg, MB. Marjorie Yeo, aged 97 years.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Charles (Sylvia), Murray (Debbie), David (Janice), Gerald, Fred (Darcy), her grandchildren Jennifer, Jason, Denise, Christine, Elizabeth, Michael and Brian, her 99 year old sister Beth of Prince George, BC and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Leonard in 2000, her brothers Harold (and his twin Donald in infancy) and Hugh.
Marjorie was born July 11, 1923 in Wood Bay, MB and moved to Pilot Mound as a young girl. She graduated from the Victoria General Hospital as an RN in 1945. She married Leonard in 1949 and together they raised their family in Pilot Mound. Marjorie was very community minded and served on several boards and service clubs but her favourite accomplishment was helping to get the recycling program off the ground. She was passionate about recycling and we, her children were often admonished to “put that in the recycling!” Her other passion was knitting and many people in need have been kept warm from the copious amount of mittens, socks, toques and scarves she knit. Her hand knit slippers are legendary and a favourite with the grandkids. She had a special bond with each of her grandchildren and was an inspiration to them all.
Marjorie moved to Winnipeg in 2002 to be closer to family and resided there until her recent passing. Cremation has taken place and a graveside ceremony will be held at a later date.
