Marina Hoskins avis de deces

Marina Hoskins passed peacefully away at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on January 3, 2021 with her husband and sister-in-law (Gloria) by her side. Left with precious memories is her loving and devoted husband Wayde Keats, a large loving family and countless friends.
Marina was born in St. Alban’s and lived in Gander, St.John’s and for the past 10 years in Lethbridge and Clearwater FL.
Marina had the ability to light up a room as soon as she entered. Her musical talent was shared freely and impacted the lives of everyone.
Marina was an accomplished accordion player who played with the ladies’ group “The Sweet Forget Me Nots” and the “Newfoundland Dirty Shirt Band”. She volunteered her time playing at seniors’ homes and coffee houses everywhere.
Marina was a lion with the Gander Lions Club, St. John’s Health Care Lions Club and Bloomfield- Musgravetown Lions Club. She received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, the highest award in Lionism as President of the St. John’s Health Care Lions Club.
Marina also volunteered for 20 years with the Newfoundland Ride for Sight.
We would like to thank the staff and nurses of GB Cross Hospital, the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic and Lethbridge Community Health, especially Dr. May, Dr. Popadiuk, Dr. Skirving and Dr. Salandha for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.
Cremation has already taken place. Due to Covid-19 restrictions a service will be held later when family and friends can safely travel.
In honor of Marina, please consider a donation to Fighting Blindness Canada (Ride for Sight) or the Lion Max Simms Memorial Camp
