In loving memory of Elizabeth Marilyn Schroeder (nee Roach), 82 years, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Maison McCulloch Hospice on Friday, June 11th, 2021. To most family and friends, she was known as Marilyn. After many years, Marilyn can now be reunited with her loving husband, Raymond. Loving mother to Terry (Maria), Todd (Karen), Joy (Doug), and Tammy (Victor). Cherished grandmother to Sara (Brandon), Meagan, Ryan, Heather (Troy), and great-grandmother to Henri. Marilyn will be missed by her loving sisters and their extended family members; Jean (Doug), Gloria (Clem), Shirley (Jim), Hilda (Phillip), Lillian (Robert), Anne (Gilles), Chris, Kevin (Etta), Gail, Kelly, and Sherry.
Marilyn devoted her life to the Roman Catholic Church, and her involvement has touched the lives of many. She will be missed by countless friends and parishioners of St. John’s and Lord of the World parishes. Marilyn celebrated 30 years of dedication to the Catholic Women’s League of Canada where she grew her faith and taught the love of God through ministry and service. She loved her family gatherings; although the food was exceptional, dessert was always her favourite. Marilyn was a talented knitter and continuously made sure everyone was cozy and warm with her hats and mittens. As many of you know, her one obsession was playing the lottery and scratching bingo tickets. Marilyn always flaunted her winnings to her friends and family; although small, she always had faith that a big win would happen. Marilyn cherished her visits with her grandpuppies Archie, DJ, and Rosco, and they will deeply miss her attention.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the Northeast Cancer Centre and the exceptional care at the Maison McCulloch Hospice. We would also like to express our gratitude to the wonderful people that helped our mother over the years.
