Marilyn Butland, 80, of Moncton,
passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, September
13, 2021.
Born in Harcourt, she was the
daughter of the late Ray and Ruby (Petley) Beers.
Marilyn and Emmerson attended St.
George’s Anglican Church.
Marilyn was a hairdresser for
many years, working at First Lady Styling Salon. She had a great love
for her dogs. Marilyn had a creative mind. She and Emmerson worked
together creating hundreds of beautiful crafts and going to annual
craft shows at Victoria Park, Quilt & Craft Show in Port
Elgin, car show in Sus, Christmas at the Coliseum and many more.
Marilyn and Emmerson’s beautiful crafts will live on and
forever be cherished. Marilyn also made delicious fudge and it was
much in demand and the first to go wherever they went; a lady of many
talents.
Marilyn belonged to 2 Red Hat
Chapters and always enjoyed being with the girls and « eating
out ». Marilyn and Emmerson enjoyed camping and motor homing and
belonged to Citation Indians Trailer Club and Perfect Circle Chapter
of Family Motor Coach Association. They participated in many rallies
and fun times touring the Maritimes and New England states with their
camping families.
Marilyn will be sadly missed by
her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Beers (Robert Smith), Levera Douthwright
(Dennis), Beulah Ramsay (William) and brother-in-law, Burpee Butland
(Debbie).
In addition to her parents, she
was predeceased by her husband, Emmerson Butland (2016) and brother,
Edward Beers (2003).
A Service to celebrate and honor
Marilyn’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home
Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday, September
20, 2021 at 11:00 am with the Reverend Canon Chris Van Buskirk
officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following
the service. Interment will be in St. James Presbyterian Church
Cemetery, Beersville.
