Margaret passed away peacefully on April 13, 2021 at the age of 99, following a long and happy life. Dear wife for over 65 years of the late Giovanni Denich (2006). Cherished Mother of Lina and her husband John Vascotto, Almensio Denich and his wife Nicolina, all of Milton. Loving grandmother to Rick Vascotto and his wife Vera Vandenbosch, Sandy Alward and her husband Ryan, Tanya Denich and her husband Jeff Mallany, Chris Denich and his wife Katherine Mortimer and Davida Denich and her husband Mark Gadomski. Loving great-grandmother to Eric, Nicholas and Natalie Vascotto, Lauren and John Alward, Dalia, Laurel and Alec Mallany, Margot Mortimer-Denich and Elise Denich Julia Gadomski. Fondly remembered by many relatives and friends in Canada, Italy and Istria. Margaret was the youngest and last surviving sibling of 12 children. She had an interesting and challenging life, immigrating to Canada with her husband, children and other relatives in 1956 to build a better life for her family. She was involved with a group of new Canadian immigrants in Milton whom supported each other and kept Istrian-Italian traditions alive, and was part of the Italian-Canadian club in Milton for many years. She was a strong person and resilient through many challenges, and even successfully combatted Covid-19. Her deep faith sustained her through life’s ups and downs. Margaret enjoyed gardening, food and friends and was happiest when entertaining her growing family. She brought joy to many people and will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, “Bella”, “Ita”, Nonna and Nonna-D. Family and friends are invited to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 139 Martin St. Milton on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 10 am. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
