Predeceased by her beloved husband Martin (September 1981), son Michael (February 1967), son Vincent (January 2010) and daughter-in-law Rikki (June 2004), and her sister Constance McDonald (December 2016).

Margaret was born in Glasgow Scotland. She immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1954 to join Martin. They married in 1955, lived in Toronto raising their children and were active members of St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church for many years. In 1978 they moved to St. Catharines. She is a retired employee of St. Catharines General Hospital (Medical Records Dept).
Mum was known for her love of dancing, singing in the church choirs and also a singing club, reading, her crossword puzzles, and her ongoing interest in British (but especially Scottish) history. Most recently the family had a great responsibility to keep her chocolate supply well stocked at all times. Although she didn’t travel as much as she would have liked, she loved her trips to New York City over the years and trips home to Glasgow. She often talked fondly of her vacation to Cuba for her 85th birthday.
Mum’s last few years were marred by poor health. However, she continued to be interested in her family’s lives. When finally forced to stop smoking she took up crocheting again to keep her hands busy, completing endless squares for a blanket she never made and only occasionally remembered to complain about not smoking. The family joked that mum’s main diet consisted of roast beef sandwiches, chocolate, and coffee, lots and lots of coffee that was never hot enough!
Mum lived a long and sometimes difficult life. She has always missed our dad. Finally, she is able to Rest in Peace.
Special thanks to the staff at Garden City Manor, St. Catharines especially Kendra who was of great assistance to the family throughout Covid with the weekly Zoom calls.
