Margaret (Peggy) Wickham (nee O’Herron)

It is with great gratitude for a life well lived and heavy hearts that the family of Margaret (Peggy) Wickham (nee O’Herron) announce her peaceful passing at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, surrounded by her loving family and friends, on Friday, November 19, 2021 at the age of 86 years, after a short illness.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of loving memories are her devoted husband and best friend of 50 years, Leonard. Also her stepson Leonard Barron (Anita deceased), and her cherished grandchildren, Curtis, Alana and Grace. Brothers-in-law, Basil Walsh, Kevin Wickham, sisters-in-law, Carol Ann Wickham, Eileen Butler, Frances (David Peddle), Lorraine (Gordon Winsor) and Louise (Spencer King) as well as many special nieces and nephews across Canada and USA.
Peggy was a faithful servant of the Lord and her quiet and gentle ways impacted many friends during her life on earth.
She is predeceased by her parents Bill & Alma O’Herron. Sisters Winnifred (Ted Singer), Alma (Alan Arthur), parents-in-law John & Margaret Wickham, brother-in-law, John Wickham, sisters-in-law, Margaret Walsh, Mary (Bill Sulley).
Peggy was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a woman of strong faith who loved Newfoundland and Labrador, especially her home in Ferryland and her spectacular view of the ocean. She was graceful and loving, cherishing family, friends and community.
Thank you to all her friends and family who have helped her in life’s journey. Special thanks to Patricia (Cookie) Walsh for her constant care during the past few months. Thank you to the staff at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, 4 West, for their exceptional care and compassion.
There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, 29 November at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Church, Ferryland. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
May Peggy’s gentle soul rest in God’s peace.
