Margaret’s Obituary
WEAVER, Margaret Isabelle passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton, with the love of her family surrounding her.
Born in Margaretsville in 1932, she was the daughter of the late Alvah and Isabelle (Gibson) MacMurtrey. Margaret was a passionate community advocate and an active member of the Margaretsville United Church, the Women’s Auxiliary and was a past member of the Margaretsville Fire Department Auxiliary.
Margaret was known for her quick wit and infectious humour. She welcomed company to her home with open arms, delicious baking and preserves, and hysterical jokes. Beyond socializing and engaging in rousing games of 45’s, she was also a skilled quilter and knitter. Above all else however, Margaret will be remembered for her unwavering strong-will.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ross Weaver, Margaretsville; Davlyn Book, Middle Sackville; and Denise Weaver, Margaretsville; Sisters, Gladys Stronach (late Clinton), Wolfville and Sandra Baker (late Arnold), Margaretsville; sister-in-law, Irene MacMurtrey (late Louis), Wilmot; grandchildren Blaine Weaver (Chantal), Marsha Dickgieser (Geoff), Melanie Book (Pete), Morgan Book (Matt), Rupert Weaver (Lana) and Shayna Weaver-Prall (Josh); great grandson Declan and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Rupert; brothers, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Roland (Edith), Ivan (Phyllis), Louis, Ashley, Earl (Nelle), sister Dorothy (Carl Smith, Earle Mitchell) and companion Tom Hankinson, Middleton.
Due to the current gathering restrictions, there will be a private family graveside service in the Bay View Cemetery, Margaretsville with Rev. Dr. Christine Marie Gladu officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Margaret’s name to the Bay View Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448.
