Margaret Williams

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our precious wife, mother and grandmother Margaret Williams, age 94, on Tuesday March 23, 2021 at the Northside Community Guest Home. She is now in the loving arms of our Lord in heaven.
Margaret was born and raised in Pass Island, Hermitage Bay, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Berthina (Strickland) Fudge. She came to North Sydney at the age of eighteen and from then on regarded North Sydney as her home. Margaret devoted her life to her family, always there for each and everyone of us. She will be remembered as a kind, gentle soul with a huge heart. She was the dispatcher for the North Sydney Fire Department for a number of years.
Margaret is survived by her husband of seventy-three years Jobe Williams, by her sons; Jobe Jr. (Leona), John (Diane), David (Holly), Ronnie (Wendy), her special niece Phyllis Reid, seven grandchildren Kenny, Barbara, Dave, Jason, Jonathan, Jeremy and Ronnie, as well as 14 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents Margaret was predeceased by brothers Phillip, Morgan and Bill Fudge, sisters Minnie Piercey, Lillian Piercey, Phyllis MacDonald and Irene Voutier.
The family would like to thank the staff of “Teresa Terrace” at the Northside Community Guest Home for the excellent care given to Margaret during her stay there.
A private family visitation will be held in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church with Rev. Jackie Warren officiating. Covid-19 protocol regarding wearing of masks, social distancing and with limited seating in the church you are advised to call Debbie Moore at 902-544-1018 to reserve seating. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date. Memorial donations may be given to a charity of choice. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.wjdooley.com
