Obituary
Margaret « Margie » E. Comeau
1955 – 2021
Margaret Ellen Comeau, 66, of Loggieville, Miramichi, passed away from a sudden illness at The Moncton Hospital on April 2, 2021 surrounded by her family.
Margie was born to the late Dearborn and Ernestine Savoy of East Point, on January 18, 1955. She had a happy childhood growing up with six siblings, playing between their homestead on the East Point Road and in the village of Loggieville. She partook in many local activities such as playing softball, skating at the village rink, participating in carnival events, variety shows and plays. She graduated from James M. Hill High School in 1973 and then from hair dressing school in Moncton, a career she would continue for the rest of her life. She made special friends throughout her career and held these friendships close to her heart. In 1976 she married her ever-loving husband Roger in Loggieville, where together they built a home and a family. They remained in their home and community until her passing.
Margie is survived by her husband, Roger Comeau; sons: Scott (Karen & Sara Druskin), Josh (Amanda Flaro); and daughter Amanda. She is also survived by her brothers: David Savoy (Sharon), Billy Savoy (Angie); sisters: Karen Comeau (Ronnie), Danna Mott (Earl), Mabel Marsh (Dave); as well as numerous nieces and nephews who held special places in her heart. Margie is predeceased by her parents; and her brother, Stephen Savoy (Brenda MacIntosh); as well as special Uncle and Aunt, Ray and Genevieve Cook.
Margie was a lifelong volunteer and organizer for numerous local events and fundraisers. She cared for numerous ailing family members and neighbours throughout the years. She was tremendously selfless and generous, donating her time and energy to those who needed it. This may have been her greatest quality. She was a C.W.L. member and was involved with the Church for many years. She really enjoyed quiet rainy days at home with a good jigsaw puzzle, reading, telling heartfelt family stories, time spent at Rosie and Perry’s camp, playing games, doing her daily puzzles from the newspaper and family trips to Alberta and Ontario. She had many hobbies and interests that she excelled at. She was an avid dog lover, gardener and cook. As a talented cook she took great pleasure in creating healthy, beautiful feasts for the family using old favourites and experimenting with new recipes. They were all delicious. She was also very creative and hands-on. She spent many hours knitting, quilting, painting and sewing everything from Hallowe’en costumes to curtains. Margie was the most incredible mother her children could have ever hoped for. To Roger she was supportive, his best friend and most loving wife. She is cherished so much and will be remembered and celebrated always and forever.
The family wishes to express gratitude for all those who intervened to care for Margie during her critical illness. Namely, Justin Martin, the EMT’s with Ambulance New Brunswick, the Miramichi Regional Hospital’s Emergency Department staff, The Moncton Hospital’s IR Department and MSICU staff.
