Margaret (Peggy) Gouin Q.C.
Peacefully, Peggy passed away on June 26, 2021 in Palm Springs, with her husband Roger by her side.
She lived and loved fully, blessing us all with her kind and generous nature.
She will forever remain in the memories of her husband Roger Gouin, her daughters Renée Gouin and Arden Vaughan (Tyler) and her beloved grandson Winston.
Peggy will be remembered lovingly by her brothers, Michael Dubensky and Bill Dubensky, her sisters Patty Shaw (Gordon), Betty Hillier (Stephen), Evelyn Devine (Ross) and Elain Dubensky (Gordon Kerr) and many nieces and nephews.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents Margaret (Peggy) and Alex Dubensky QC.
Peggy enjoyed spending time with her longstanding tennis & hiking groups, gardening, golfing as well as serving on various boards in Edmonton.
When their two daughters were teenagers Peggy returned to the University of Alberta following in her father’s footsteps by obtaining her law degree. She was called to the Alberta Bar in 1989 and was appointed a Queens’ Counsel in December of 2009.
Peggy and Roger shared 50 years of married life, they enjoyed travelling the world, spending winters at their California residence and summers at Wabamun Lake where she hosted many gatherings for family and friends. Those memories she gave us will last a lifetime.
Peggy touched the hearts of many who loved her for her thoughtfulness, humour, elegance and for the courageous person that she truly was.
In lieu of flowers we would ask friends and family to make a blood donation at their local blood bank in honour of Peggy.
A family gathering was held to celebrate Peggy’s life.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Margaret Catherine Gouin 2021..
