Marc Senecal

After a lengthy and courageous battle with liver disease, Marc left to join his brother Glen on an extended fishing trip in the sky. Marc was always proud of his dual citizenship. He was born in Joliet, Illinois and lived in the Florida-keys and North Carolina before settling in Winnipeg. Marc loved being a carpenter and worked extremely hard until 2010 when his illness prevented him from doing so. He was incredibly talented at carpentry, especially finishing work and he even had some of his work featured in magazines. Marcs favorite past time was fishing. Ice fishing in “the Shack” in the winter and on the boat at Buffalo Point in the summer. He loved spending as much time as he could at Buffalo Point. If he was not on the water fishing, he was sitting around the campfire, staring at the stars, and always made room for anyone that wanted to join him. I am sure most of you have the fond memory of Marc riding his bike in the campgrounds or around the neighborhood with his parrot Santana on his shoulder.
Marc will be greatly missed by the love of his life Christine and their son Teig. Marc and Christine were always together enjoying the outdoors whether camping, rodeo’s, music festivals, or bonfires. Nothing could slow Marc down and he lived his life to the fullest. Family and friends were a huge part of who Marc was. He was predeceased by his father Jean, stepfather Steve, and best friend and brother Glen. He is also survived by his mother Margaret Massie, sisters Diane and Jayne, four godchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
The family would like to thank Dr Peretz and Dr. Aoki at Health Sciences Centre, Angie at CIVP for their great care and support. They would also like to thank everyone that has provided support and love over the last few difficult months. Marc was always aware of the support and appreciated it very much.
