Louise Margaret Lacourse Guthrie
1952-2021
Louise Margaret Lacourse Guthrie, age 69, passed away on
Tuesday, July 13, 2021, due to health complications in the Valley
Regional Hospital, Kentville, Nova Scotia. She was born to Violet
Delair and Edward Narcisse in Eganville, Ontario. Louise was seventh
of eight children and attended Eganville District High School where
she participated in Cross Country running, the Glee Club and excelled
in all academics. She moved to the Kitchener/Waterloo area in 1977 as
a single mother to begin a new adventure. With over 35 years
in the insurance industry, Louise retired in 2011, completing her
career at Manulife as the Leader of Tax and Retirement Services (TRS).
She had a strong following among advisors and wholesalers, frequently
spoke at industry conferences and seminars, published several
articles, was uniquely smart, charismatic, funny, diligent, and had
exceptional industry knowledge spanning across all business units. In
2017, Louise moved to Nova Scotia to «take it easy» as she
said, enjoy retirement with friends, golf, cocktails, eat seafood and
be near the ocean. Sadly, she will be missed by her son,
Chris Farrell; daughter-in-law, Tina; grandsons, Colton and Griffin;
along with many other family and friends she met along her journey in
life. Special thanks to the ICU, Dr. Lee and team at the Valley
Regional Hospital for your compassion and care, as well as the White
Family Funeral Home for going above and beyond during this difficult
time. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private
family gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
please send any donations to your local Alcoholics Anonymous, Victim
Services or Addictions Counselling Center. Arrangements have been
entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
