Obituary of Lorraine Elza Marie Pinel
Obituary
Lorraine Elza Marie Pinel
September 9 th 1951- May 21 st 2021
Predeceased by her Parents, her brother Richard, her sister-in-law Karen and Teesha who was welcomed into the family.
Survived by her Husband, Gerry and two children, Nick and Kim.
Lorraine was a special woman. She embraced life in every way imaginable. Throughout her life she worked hard to make life better for others often putting their needs above her own. Her work life
spanned several fields; she ran an Aerobics business for several years, worked at a Pharmacy and eventually started and ran a successful bookkeeping company.
An exceptionally kind, empathetic , funny person who believed in equality and fairness ; she was a mother bear when it came to defending those in need of help.
Lorraine lived life to the fullest; she travelled extensively, visiting the UK, Portugal, France, Spain, Alaska, the entirety of Canada and many places in the US. Even with her love of travelling there was one place she loved more than anywhere else – home. It was here where she forged long lasting friendships and was loved by many. It is fair to say that in a roomful of adults, if there were children present Lorraine was attentive to them – she was Grandma to many. She also found much joy in nature while hiking and canoeing.
She showed tremendous courage throughout her life by battling polio, lupus, diabetes and heart disease.
It is very hard to sum up the impact that Lorraine had on the lives of many but one thing is for certain; there was love and the hole that she left behind will be there for a very long time.
A Celebration of Life will be held August 7th from 11-4 at Allco Park. A potluck luncheon will begin at 12 and a ceremony will begin at 2pm.
