It is with great sadness that the family of Lois Marguerite Veinot, 92, of Fauxburg, announces her passing on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay.
Born in Blockhouse, Lois was raised in a large family of the late Martin Nathaniel and Gertrude (Weagle) Wilneff.
In her earlier years Lois worked at the Greenshutters Restaurant in Mader’s Cove and then went on to work for 13 years with National Sea Products in Lunenburg.
She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, taking great pride meticulously keeping her home neat and tidy, spending time with family and friends, cooking in her kitchen and in her spare time knitting to share with family and enjoying many happy hours with her beloved dogs Benji and Bouncie. She will be deeply missed by so many.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Rochelle Veinot- Whynott of Blockhouse; son, Dwight Veinot (Rosalie Walters) of Head of St. Margaret’s Bay, grandchildren, Adrian and Matthew (Kelly); sister, Laura (Wilbur) Frank of Sudbury, ON and a brother Gary (Glenda) Wilneff of Leduc, Alberta and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Earl St. Clair Veinot; son, Blake Woodrow Veinot, siblings, Albert, Lester, Murray, Kathleen, Eileen, Harold, Robert, Elva, Percy.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, where a memorial service to celebrate Lois’s life will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Old Blockhouse Cemetery.
COVID-19 restrictions will apply. Seating is limited, so please call the funeral home at 1- (902) 634-3942 if you plan to attend.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or to Blockhouse Amalgamated Cemeteries.
The family would like to thank Dr. Esther Raymond and the staff of the Mahone Nursing Home for their wonderful and compassionate care given to our mom while she was a resident at the nursing home.
