It is with heavy hearts that we announce Linda Elizabeth Cruch (née Bergdahl) passed away on the evening of September 28, 2021, at the age of 81.
Linda was born on May 15, 1940 in Westlock, Alberta. She was the only child to parents Edwin and Thelma Bergdahl.
Growing up as an only child, Linda yearned to have a large family of her own. Her (predeceased) husband of 52 years was named Victor. They lived all over the province of BC as Victor was a logger and moved where the work was to support their family. Ultimately, they settled in the community of Barriere in 1990 and that was where they remained. Together, they raised their 5 children: Jean (Brad) of Alberta, Gail of BC, Carl (Marlene) of BC, Tina (Calvin) of Alberta and Vince (Patsy) of BC. Linda was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren to bestow her love upon.
Linda loved staying busy with her various hobbies, such as knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking, gardening, playing a mean game of Cribbage and being outdoors.
It was a well-known family fact that Linda loved animals and was known to have a steady supply of cat food and treats for her feral cat friends, when they came to visit.
Every holiday season, Linda was baking up a storm and sending care packages all over BC and Alberta to her various family members and friends. All whom eagerly awaited their arrival because they knew that it was full of good food and her love.
If you ever needed a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on or some advice, Linda was there. She was known for her generous nature, her strong will, her sense of humour, her dry wit and her love of the King, Elvis Presley. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
In lieu of gifts, the family would like to ask that donations be made to the BC SPCA or an animal rescue of your choice in Linda’s name.
