Leslie Edmond Downing of Virden, Manitoba passed away at Elkwood Manor Personal Care Home – Elkhorn, Manitoba Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the age of 100 years.
Les is survived by wife Louise (nee VanLoo), daughter Donna Lynne Downing and her husband John Baker, granddaughter Janelle Claire Downing-Baker, grandson Morgan Downing-Baker and his wife Tracy and their daughter (great granddaughter to Les) Irene Downing-Baker. He is also survived by his sisters Florence Tindall and Frances Casson. Les was predeceased by his siblings and their spouses Mary (Bill) Dawson, Alfred (Ruth) Downing and Clarence (Anne) Downing and by brothers-in-law Bob Tindall and Geoffrey Casson.
Due to the current Covid 19 restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Virden Cemetery.
For those who so desire, memorial tributes in memory of Les may be made to Royal Canadian Legion Br. #8 Poppy Fund P.O. Box 1107 Virden, MB R0M 2C0.
