Leonard (Joseph) LEFAIVRE-With profound sadness the family announces the passing of Len Lefaivre of Haileybury, ON at age of 73. Leonard passed away at the Temiskaming Hospital on Friday, September 17th, 2021 with his loving family by his side.
Born on the West Road of Haileybury on January 29th, 1948, to the late Edeas Lefaivre and Marie-Blanche Lefaivre (nee Rioux), Len worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia in Haileybury as a teller; taught school in Mattice; worked in the parts department at Mathew’s Garage; delivered for Goudreault’s Catering; and drove truck for the Lefaivre Family Topsoil business. He also worked at Mathew’s Garage and Wilson Chevrolet Oldsmobile Ltd in detailing. Throughout his life he loved to sing and play music for weddings and dances, but his passion was in his playing music for the seniors.
Len was predeceased by his parents, and two brothers, Raymond and Ronnie; survived by his sister Alice Kramp (Johnny) of Elk Lake, younger brother Jean Paul (Joyce) of Kirkland Lake, and sister Annette Maille (Mike) of Moonbeam; sisters-in-law Donna Lefaivre and Therese Lefaivre as well as all extended family members.
Len will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 29 years, Joan; and his step children, Lisa & John Hogerland of Ottawa, Lorraine & Dennis Croft of Whitby, Dan & Vanessa Noel of Waterloo, and Andre Noel (Joanne) of Ottawa. Loving grandfather to Chad, Gillian Hogerland; Spencer and Graeme Croft; and Liam, Charlotte, Edwin and Owen Noel.
Cremation has taken place at Lakeview Crematorium in Haileybury and interment of Leonard’s ashes will take place at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Leonard’s memory can be made to a charity of your choice or the Cancer Centre.
