Leo Penny

We regret to announce the death of Leo Penny, 72, of Waverley, who passed away after a long battle with cancer at home on February 13, 2021 . He was born on March 20, 1948 in North Sydney. Predeceased by his parents Daniel Joseph and Margaret Josephine (Cupie) Penny.
Leo served 7 years with the Armed Services during which he arrived in Goose Bay, Newfoundland. While serving there he fell in love with the people and the culture. He remained there for over 20 years working with the Department of Transport. After leaving Goose Bay he travelled and lived in various locations across Canada, especially anywhere he could enjoy the outdoors.
Leo travelled extensively during his lifetime and loved hunting, fishing and especially kayaking in his later years. He lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed any opportunity to be in nature.
Leo is survived by his greatest loves; his daughter Debbie Wall (Fort MacMurray), and his grandson Linkin Wall. He is also survived by his sister Pamela Morrison (Dartmouth) and niece Brandie Allison and nephew Chris Ferguson.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions no service will be held.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. Bruce Colwell and his wonderful staff. Also thanks to Palliative Care, Continuing Care, VON, Health providers and Hospice Halifax for all their compassion and care.
