Larry Kenneth Ellis – age 70 of Knoxville, TN passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. Larry was a member of Cedar Grove Methodist Church in Rutledge from a young age, and was also a long-time member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) of ham radio operators (call sign KE4KPD).
Preceded in death by daughter, Kimberly Ellis; parents, Ernest Euston (Jack) and Frances McGhee Ellis; sister, Sherry Denise Ellis; aunts and uncles, Fred and Irma Lee Ellis and Ravonell (Mutt) and Grace Ellis; and cousin, Robert (Bud) Ellis.
Survived by wife, Sherry Speegle Ellis; son, Charles Ellis; granddaughter, Kaleen Cameron; sister, Rene Beason and husband Gary; nephew, James White; nieces, Leslie White and Karrie Ellis;; step-daughters, Lisa Dawson and Tessa Crusenberry and husband David; cousins, Don and Keith Ellis; family friends, Rebecca Jarnagin, Jason Lajouness, Kenny Mullins; friends from Sherry’s office at Home Federal Bank past and present; and the drivers, support and office staff (especially Sara Mullins) at Short Mountain Trucking; along with the many friends he made near and far driving a big rig for so many years.
The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Bridges Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 7:00 PM with Rev. Cliff Amos officiating. Family and friends will gather 1:45 PM on Wednesday at Grainger Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 PM graveside service. Please observe all pandemic protocols and wear a face covering for the services.
