Kevin’s Obituary
In loving memory of Kevin Harry Tattrie, 63, of Tatamagouche Nova Scotia. Kevin’s fight against ALS was lost as he passed away peacefully at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche on June 7, 2021, in the comfort and care of Dr. Bush and palliative care nurse Martha Underwood. Kevin is survived by his wife, Cheryl Drummond-Tattrie; his son, Jared Tattrie; daughters, Kaylee Tattrie and Breanne Tattrie (Greg Dort); Grandsons, Bentley Cain & Declan Dort. his mother, Laura Tattrie; brother, Larry Tattrie (Debbie Tattrie); sisters, Kathleen Tattrie, Betty McNutt (Lloyd McNutt), Kimberly Hines (Leonard Byrnes) and Sandra Borgal (Charlie Borgal). Kevin is survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends to whom he provided an abundance of love as a father, grandfather, son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend. He was predeceased by his father, Bernard Tattrie; sisters, Diane Tattrie and Adelaide Tattrie; nephew, Jason Pope; brother-in-law, Allan Buckler; nephew-in-law, Chris Patriquin. Kevin had a strong passion for bass fishing, especially in the company of his nephews & closest friends here in Nova Scotia. He was an avid hunter, specifically for deer and ducks. He loved participating in horse pulls and had attended many throughout his life. You could always find Kevin at Robin’s having a coffee with his many friends or at his house. But nothing would make him smile more than seeing his own grandchildren. The best gift his youngest daughter could have given him; they were his entire world, which comforted him with a sense of family. Family meant everything to Kevin. His love for the great outdoors extends to his eldest daughter who is now a business owner of a horticultural venture, where his insights paved the way for her success. Kevin had many talents in life. His creative and artistic mind is shown throughout all of his side projects. For years he worked as a carpenter and had a well-known business working with sawmills. In his later years he found a beautiful passion for woodworking, providing his home with his rustic influences that will be cherished through generations. The partnership between Kevin and his wife made for the most loving home for their family, which has been the center point of love for their children and grandchildren. From a young lad he could be found in the woods logging. It truly was his happy place. It has become a big part of his son’s life today, making Kevin proud as his son carries on his legacy. He was the hardest working man that everyone knew and it showed in many parts of his life. He will be remembered as always being full of life! He never took anything for granted and is admired by all who had been given the chance to know him. His wisdom and stories will be shared by everyone for years to come and his impact will never be forgotten. No words can describe such a loss but our love for him will remain, forever. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Coulter’s Funeral Home (902-657-3288), Tatamagouche and a private burial at French River Cemetery with a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Rob Barrett has kindly gifted and created a beautiful urn which is so greatly appreciated. A special thank you to Dr. Bush, Palliative Care nurse, Martha Underwood, VON nurses and friends and family for all their special care and home visits.
