Obituary of Kerry Meyerink
With heavy hearts we say good bye to our loving mother, sister, aunt and friend, Kerry Meyerink on October 8th, 2021 at the Chatham-Kent Hospice. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Reunited with her mother and best friend, Deanna Vandesompel.
Cherished mother of Lisa (Misty) Meyerink.
Dear sister of Kim (Cam) Woodcock.
« Grandma Kerry » to Isaac and Nathan.
Aunt to Eric (Ebru) and Teri-Anne (Dan).
Will also be missed by numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Survived by aunts, uncles and a multitude of friends, especially her close friend Dave.
Kerry was a waitress at Mike’s Place for seventeen years, where she cherished her co-workers and customers who quickly became family. She was an active member of The Chatham Moose Lodge for most of her life. She enjoyed travelling, especially to the beaches of Cuba, meeting new people and laughing on a patio with friends. After falling ill, walks along the Amherstburg riverfront with her daughter brought her peace. Known for her quick wit and her sarcastic sense of humor, Kerry will also be missed for her loving heart. Kerry’s strength and happy-go-lucky spirit throughout her illness, especially during her final days, was and will continue to be an inspiration to everyone around her.
There will be no funeral service at this time. Cremation has taken place.
Donations in memory of Kerry may be made to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
