Obituary
With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Ken on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at his home with his wife at his side. He was 78 years of age.
Ken was born on July 20, 1942 in Bayard, Saskatchewan to Otto and Margaret Hubenig. Ken was the youngest of 6 children. In 1996 he met the love of his life Sandra Threinen. They were married on July 7, 2001.
Ken was an electrician and owned his own business in Devon, Alberta in the 70’s and 80’s. He then moved back to Saskatoon and went to work at Key Lake Uranium Mine until retirement in 2007. In 2008 he moved to Russell, Manitoba and built his beautiful retirement home. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and taking care of his large yard. He also enjoyed baking buns and bread. Grand kids and neighbours requested grandpa’s buns or Ken’s buns.
He was predeceased by his parents Otto and Margaret, his mother-in-law Eleanor Schmidt, his sisters Isabel and Angie.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Sandra and his step-children Lowell Threinen (Sandy), Jordan and Jasmine from Fort Saint John, B.C. Candice Threinen Cameron, Alex and Lily from Calgary, Alberta; Blayne Threinen (Donna), Reese, Rylie and Max from Langenburg, Saskatchewan, his Sister Emma Hendrickson from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Brothers Zack Hubenig from Toronto, Ontario and Hugh Hubenig (Joanne) from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
