Julietta Barretto
January 31, 1946 – August 1, 2021
It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that the Barretto and Easo families announce that Julietta (Julie) Barretto, our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at Tall Pines Long-term Care Centre in Brampton, Ontario on August 1, 2021 at the age of 75.
Julietta was born on January 31, 1946 in Nairobi, Kenya. Following her adventurous spirit, she travelled to the United Kingdom to begin the next step in her journey as a young woman. Eventually, she moved to Canada where she would complete her pursuit of a goal to provide a better life for her family.
With the love she bestowed on them, she is survived by her two children, Suzanne and her husband, Jamie, and Mark and his wife, Sheriefa. She will be forever loved by her five beautiful grandchildren, Alex, Jace, Sabrina, Alia and Mia. She is predeceased by her late parents, Caetano and Rosalina De Souza and her brothers, Mark and Raymond De Souza. She is survived by her brother, Jerry De Souza.
From an early age, she loved travelling the world, including the Orient, India, Europe, the USA and especially Ontario casinos. She enjoyed cooking for her family, including traditional Goan dishes such as her much loved pilau and oxtail curry. She also loved watching Coronation Street and Indian movies. Her love of food included dim sum and cravings to satisfy her sweet tooth.
Julietta had a deep love and devotion for God, her family and friends. She will be dearly missed. She had a big heart and was always there to help a friend in need. She was a blessing to those who knew her.

The family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to the staff at Brampton Civic Hospital and Tall Pines Long-term Care Centre for providing exemplary care and compassion to Julietta in her final days.
