Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Friday, April 23, 2021, at Bluewater Health, Joseph “Joe” Robert Phibbs passed away at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Dolly (nee Blake). Loving father of Allan (Tracy) Phibbs, Michael (Laura) Phibbs and Maureen Kelly (Mark Pearson). Cherished grandfather of Casey (Danae), Christa (Jeremy), Andrew (Emma), Kyle, Alyssa (Daniel), Kaitlyn and Travis (Ashley); treasured great-grandfather of Clifford, Elizabeth, June, and Zoey. Dear brother of Avis Carter, Wayne Phibbs, and Donna Joyce. Beloved brother-in-law and uncle to many in both the Phibbs and Blake families. Predeceased by his parents Allan and Verona Phibbs and his siblings Roland Phibbs, Ruth McCready, Vernon Phibbs, Isobel (Bunny) Barnes, Cameron Phibbs, and Trent Phibbs. Joe was a longtime member of People’s Church and a member of the Sarnia Sports Hall of Fame. Joe will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Cremation has taken place. A private family service was held, with the intention of holding a Celebration of Life to honor Joe at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to The Gideons International, Kids Alive International or a charity of choice (cheques mailed to the funeral home or made online, please).
