Jose Benido Carvalho Da Silva
Peacefully passed away on March 26, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 85. Loving husband of 62 years to Maria Helena. Caring and devoted father to Paulo (Paula), Fatima, Lurdes and George (Kimberley). Proud Avo to Paulo, Sandra, Miguel, Nuno (Kim), Daymon and Emersen. Survived by sister-in-law Graziela, and predeceased by his brothers Henrique (Carmo) and Eugénio.

Jose was born in Lisbon, a city he loved and where he grew-up dreaming of travelling all over the world and where he developed a love of books and movies.
He would walk to school and save his bus money so he could go to the movies, sit in the cheap seats and watch 3 movies in a row for the price of 1.
He didn’t get to travel to all the places he dreamt of as a boy, but he did get to go on tours through North America and Europe with his wife Lena after retirement, and he filled his houses with books and movies.
His life was full with a love of 66 years for his wife of 62 years, and until the very end they would sit for hours holding hands and talking to each other.
His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and absolutely nothing made him happier than having them all together in the beautiful houses he worked so hard to buy and decorate, whether it was the one in Toronto, the city he chose to bring his family and start his life all over again at 45, or in Albufeira, Portugal, his summer vacation destination.
