Obituary of Jon William Wasson
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jon William Wasson, which occurred on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at home. Born in Saint John, he was a son of Margaret Wasson (Hurley) and the late William Wasson.
Jon was born in Saint John, on April 14, 1962. He graduated from Saint John High and was involved in the drama club and inspired his love of music.
Jon moved to Halifax and began his music career. He travelled throughout the Maritimes playing music with his band. Music was his passion and he thoroughly enjoyed writing music and lyrics, which he continued throughout his life.
It was Halifax he started his career in the casino and hospitality industry. This allowed him to further his career and travel the world aboard ships in the cruise industry.
Jon returned to his hometown and continued to work in the hospitality industry. Jon was loved by many people and he enjoyed playing his music for them.
Jon will live on in the hearts of his mother, Margaret Wasson, brothers Paul Wasson, Ryan Wasson (Tanya), Jeremy Cyr (Betsy) sisters Tammy Wasson (Vince), Kirsten Hickey (Mark), and Sacha Wasson, his son Matthew Frigault and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. (634-7424). There will be no visitation or funeral service. Condolences in Jon’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
