After a hard fought and lengthy battle, our warrior passed away peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital Met Campus on Monday, April 19, 2021 with his wife Pam and sister Nancy by his side. Born on April 19, 1944 to the late Duncan and Peggy, he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pam, and his children John (Deb) Marshall, Lisa (Rob) Mathers, Cathrine (Jason) Marshall and Jamie (Nina) Marshall. Grandfather of Tanya, Lea, Krista, Zach, Jeff, Jordan, Jacob, Gillian, Jake, and Gina. Also survived by his twin sister Mary (the late Ron) and sister Nancy. Special brother-in-law and friend to Carol Robert (Murray). John will be missed by many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
John worked for G.M. Trim for 31 years, including 13 years at the Hamtramck Assembly Plant. After retiring from G.M., he worked a further 18 years at Happy Days Boat Centre. He loved to travel, and with Pam spent many winters in the south in their RV, most recently in Florida.
Special thanks to the team at WRH-Met Campus for their care of John.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice of Windsor and Es County or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
According to John’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
