Jocelyn Elizabeth « Jo » Fisher Horton
1952-2021
After five long years of battling cancer, we regret to
announce the passing of Jocelyn Elizabeth « Jo »
Fisher Horton, 69 years, of Halfway River, Cumb. Co.,
on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in Cumberland Regional Health Care
Centre.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and
Reta (Penney) Spence.She loved spending time with her family, and of
course her dogs. She loved her farm-house home, always tweaking it to
keep it vintage. When not busy at home, she loved spending time
outdoors, especially bass fishing with her husband. A crafty lady, she
enjoyed painting, and was well known for her homemade « Jo’s
Soap ». Nothing warmed her heart more than listening to her two
boys strum their guitars and singing a tune around the kitchen
table.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Allan Horton,
Halfway River; children, Michael (Amber) Fisher, Halfway River and
Bruce (Natasha) Fisher, Southampton, NS, Larry Horton, Calgary, AB,
Lori Horton, Amherst, NS and Joey (Jennifer) Horton, Amherst, NS; 10
grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Donnie (Helen),
Truro, NS, Brian (Joan), Fenwick, NS, Beverly (Victor Lawson)Dale,
Fenwick, NS, Carol Farrell, Amherst, NS, Larry (Mary
« Bugs »), Oshawa, ON, Dave (Gail), Bowmanville, ON, Lois
(Charles) Davison, Halfway River, NS; as well as many close nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband Sid in 1993;
siblings John « Jack », Kenneth « Bob », and Betty
Storey.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of
A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane
Street, Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). Public Visitation will take
place at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A
funeral service will be held on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 2 pm from
A H Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, NS. Due to Covid-19 restrictions,
masks are required, preregistration is required for the funeral by
calling the funeral home, and we ask that everyone respect social
distancing. Following the funeral, cremation will take place and
burial will be held in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, and the
Halfway River Union Church Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Jo may be made to the charity of the
donor’s choice.
