Joanne Phillion (nee Aaker)
1952 – 2021
Joanne L. Phillion (nee Aaker), passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Wednesday, October 7, 2021, at the age of 69 years. Joanne was born on June 20, 1952, and spent her childhood and youth in Scratoga Park with her family. She was a loving mother and Nanna. Everyone who knew Joanne, knew her love of cooking, baking and bingo. On the weekends you could find Joanne watching her grandson, Blaiden at his hockey games. She loved every second spent with her family and grandchildren. Joanne will be lovingly remembered in the hearts of her son, Dellon (Candace); daughter, Valina; grandchildren, Blaiden, Faith, Grace and Cade; brother, Henry (Pat) Aaker and well as all those who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by her mother, Phyllis in 2001; father, Henry in 2012 and her brother, Butch in 2018. A Celebration of Joanne’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
