Joan McCarvill
The death occurred peacefully on Thursday, November 25 at
Prince County Hospital with family by her side, of Margaret
« Joan » McCarvill (nee Johnston), aged 88
years. Adopted daughter of the late Russell and Katie
(Hamill) McCarville and biological daughter of the late Harold and
Genevieve (Hamill) Johnston. She leaves to mourn her
children Brian (Ruth) McCarville, Mary (Kent) MacKay and Darryl
McCarville of Calgary; brothers George (Pat) Johnston, Canmore and
Willard (Anna) Johnston, Montreal, plus numerous grandchildren and
great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Les, sons
Gary and Ronnie and two sons in infancy; foster daughter Shirley (Vic)
Diorio; brothers Keith and Vernon Johnston and sisters Ruth Dempsey,
Patricia Gilbert and Pauline Alsop. Resting at Lawless Funeral Home,
Kinkora with visitation for family and invited guests (with VAX Pass
and Photo ID) on Sunday, November 28 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 29,
10:00 am (invitation only) at St. Malachy’s Church,
Kinkora. Interment in the parish cemetery. If so
desired, memorial donations in Joan’s memory may
be made to the Diabetic Association of PEI.
