Obituary of Jean Margaret Cole
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin and Friend to many.
Jean was predeceased by several family members who welcomed her into Heaven including; her parents, all her sisters and brothers, her husband Leonard, her second love Gerald (Jiggs), her daughters Bridget and Mary-Patricia, son-in-law Pat, cherished cousin Eileen (Tootsie), great grand-son Gaige and most recently her best friend of 81 years, Isobel.
Her remaining daughters Cathie, Beverly, Carolyn (Will), and Denise will hold her in their hearts forever. Jean’s eight grandchildren Cora, Mark, Rebecca, Sarah, PJ, Felicia, Joel and Breah and 12 great-grand-children will all miss her dearly. Her extended family of nieces, nephews, and honoree family members Raymond, Danny, Eliz, and Diane all have fond memories of this spectacular woman.
With six daughters, two husbands, and lots of others to care for, Jean was proud to be stay at home Mom until she was in her 50s, when got her first job at the Saraguay Club. Jean enjoyed music and dancing during the 1950s straight through to the 1990s. She spent her free time reading, gardening, knitting, and especially loved playing cards with family and friends. Jean volunteered for over 20 Years, with the 2nd Spryfield Brownie pack. To support her daughter Mary-Patricia who thrived with Cerebral Palsy, Jean was a volunteer with the Special Olympics. Over a 25 year period, Jean (Jaws) broke many bowling records in various Spryfield and Fairview Bowling Leagues. Jean lived her life to the fullest and never missed a chance to love, laugh or to “tell it like it was.”
Our heartfelt thank-you to Cora, Geoff and Elliott for their special love and care throughout her life. We also want to extend a thank-you to Northwood Ivany Place and the staff in Seaside Cove, especially Stacy, Patti, Marcie, Cheryl, Tracy, Jennifer, Stephanie, and Travis and all the others we may missed. You all provided such great care and without a doubt became her second family.
Jean will be missed by everyone who knew her, but is now surrounded by all those she missed.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Jean
