It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Jean on Wednesday, April 28.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Ross, Trudy and Griff; grandchildren: Cari, Michelle, Stacey, Kim, Leslie, Karen, Guillaume, Chloé and Gabriel; great grandchildren: Justin, Riley, Emmit, Amaya, Emily, Grace, Tegan and Colton.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd; and her brothers, Dave and Don.
Jean was born and raised in Medicine Hat. After high school, she moved to Calgary to attend the Holy Cross School of Nursing, graduating with the Class of ’46. She and Lloyd were married in 1947 and moved to Edmonton. They started their family with the arrival of Ross in 1948 followed within a few years by Trudy and Griff. As the children became older, Jean returned to nursing and worked several years at the Charles Camsell Hospital in Edmonton until her retirement. Following Lloyd’s death in 1991, she moved to St. Albert.
Jean will be remembered for her love of card games, artistic ability, her green thumb with plants and best of all, the gingerbread cookies.
We wish to thank Dana and her staff at the Citadel Care Centre for keeping mom safe from Covid-19 as well as the excellent care she received.
There will be a virtual celebration of her life on May 16, Details and Link can be accessed through Ross at drr.flr@telus.net
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Jean Richards 2021..
