Obituary of James Norman Fenton
We are deeply saddened to announce that James Norman Fenton of Port Perry passed away at home on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021. James was born April 14th, 1932 in Toronto. Beloved husband of Catherine (nee Harvey) his wife of 63 years. Cherished father of Michael (deceased) and his wife Monica, David and his wife Dimi (deceased), Jo Ellen, and Jennifer and her husband Jason. Proud grandfather of Krystal (Pat), Jason, Eleni, Madeleine, and Harrison, and great grandfather of Bria, Alexa, Madison, and Jason Michael. Dear brother of William and his wife Frances (deceased), John (deceased) and his wife Estelle, and McKinley and his wife Diane.
James grew up in a busy and loving family with three brothers and often shared fond memories of his childhood and teenage years. James enjoyed a successful career with Bell Canada for 35 years.
After raising their 4 children, James and Catherine settled into retirement life in the beautiful town of Port Perry. James wanted to work on his golf game and living on the 9th hole of a golf course provided him with ample opportunity! During their later years of marriage, they enjoyed travels to Hawaii, Italy, France, and Ireland. These trips fulfilled James’ interests in history, religion, architecture and family heritage.
James was a strong, kind, and supportive father. His faith in God, as well as his love and guidance, was the foundation of his family. He will be remembered for his passion for hockey and golf, his enthusiasm for bird watching, his quick wit and good humour.
