James «Jimmy» Wayne Baker
May 24, 1947 – December 16, 2021
Baker, James Wayne, (Jimmy) age 74 years, of East Chezzetcook. It is with deep sadness we his family announce the passing of Jimmy a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend, on December 16, 2021 in the QEII, Halifax Infirmary Site.
He was the son of The Late James and Jennette (Fleet) Baker.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Marie Elizabeth (Keller); daughter Janet Baker of West Chezzetcook; son James Baker (Leona Holloway) of East Chezzetcook; sister Dora Sleigh; grandsons Nathan Ritcey, and Dustin Baker. Also many nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents Jimmy was predeceased by his brother Bob Baker, sisters Shirley Richards, Barbara LeBlanc, Brenda Paul, and grandson Evan Ritcey.
Jimmy was a mechanic, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, 4 wheeling and hunting. He loved to make family and friends laugh and enjoyed spending time with his son, grandsons, and friends in the garage. He had a special bond with all his nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Jimmy was deeply loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Life will be held Monday December 20th, 2 – 4 PM, 382 East Chezzetcook Road, East Chezzetcook. Covid restrictions to be followed, masking required. A private family interment will be held Tuesday December 21st.
For those who wish to do so donations in Jimmy’s memory to Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital, QE II Health Sciences Centre or Charity of Choice would be appreciated by his family.
