James ‘Jim’ MacIvor
1940-2021
James Forbes « Jim » MacIvor, 81 –
It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing
of Jim on October 9, 2021 with his family at his side.
Born in Stellarton on July 13, 1940, he was the son of the
late Angus Forbes and Anna Gladys MacIvor of Stellarton. Jim was the
loving husband of 51 years to his late wife Donna Marie MacIvor.
Throughout his life the love for his wife Donna was evident in
everything he did until her passing in 2015. Always together and
forever in love.
He was always so proud of his sons and their families of
which he bragged about at every opportunity. A proud brother, father,
grandfather, friend and companion to all he came in contact with and
involved in all his grandchildren’s many academic
achievements and sports activities – present at all! He
touched the hearts of many with his acts of kindness.
He was well known in the community from his early days at
Spencer Motors to his distinguished career in Real Estate since 1969
working in the family business with his two sons at J.F. MacIvor
Properties until the day of his passing.
Jim was an active member in the community, Honorary Member of
the Nova Scotia Association of Realtors with several awards and
achievements along the way. He loved the outdoors and was an avid
golfer with friends and family, a fisherman with his good friend,
prospector, and sports fan.
He was predeceased by his wife Donna MacIvor, granddaughter
Miranda MacIvor. He is survived by his sister, Judy (Jim) Martin;
sons, David (Lynn) MacIvor, Jonathan (Allison) MacIvor; grandchildren,
