Obituary
Tazzeo; James Isaiah
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of James Isaiah Tazzeo, on January 28th, 2021. Known to most as Jamie, he was the beloved husband of Michelle Tazzeo (Boniface), and loving father to Clare, Julia, and James. Jamie was the eldest son of Joseph and Shirlee Tazzeo. Brother to Michael (Tracy) and Stephen (Andrea). He is survived by loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. Unconditionally loved by his best friend, Buddy.
Jamie grew up in Hamilton on San Marino where he spent many great years with neighbours and family. He often reminisced about family trips, time at the cottage, and get-togethers with grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins. He is a graduate of Sir Allan McNab Secondary School and completed a Bachelor of Environmental Studies at the University of Waterloo. He studied Medicine at McMaster University, followed by a residency in Family Medicine at the University of Toronto. He completed his second year of residency with the Rural Ontario Medicine Program in Orillia where he then set up practice. Jamie cared for his patients and dedicated countless hours to them over the past 25 years. He was proud to be part of the First Medical Group Orillia team, on staff at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, and a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians.
Jamie was passionate about being physically active. He loved to swim, ski, run, and walk for miles. He studied maps and spent hours dreaming and planning about places to travel. He was so happy to have completed the Camino Frances twice, the Camino Português, the Camino Primitivo, and the Camino de San Salvador. Time spent travelling with family and friends was so important to him. His favourite swims were at the cottage where he would finish the day on the dock with family and friends to watch the sunset. He always looked forward to a good coffee, glass of wine, or dinner with friends, and he prided himself on being a pizzaiolo. Jamie was a thinker, planner, and encourager who always had some project or surprise in the works.
Jamie loved his parents and would take any opportunity he got to spend time with them. He always turned to them for love and guidance, and he enjoyed nothing more than a meal with them. He made sure to have a similar relationship with his own family.
A funeral mass was held with close family at Guardian Angel’s Church. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada. Messages of condolence are welcome at www.mundellfuneralhome.com.
We love you and will walk with you forever in our hearts.
Buen Camino, Santiago.
