Obituary for James Benjamin Hamen
November 23, 1942 – July 19, 2021
Hamen, James Benjamin (Ben), age 78, formerly of the Mill Brook, Creston South, Newfoundland passed peacefully away in his home in Vancouver, B.C. on July 19, 2021.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories, his sisters Alice and Evelyn (Rudy), his brothers Alvin, Norm, and Randy and a large circle of nieces and nephews. Ben was predeceased by his mom, Johanna (Joan), his brothers Jack and Harvey and his sisters Lenora and Goldie.
Ben touched everyone he met with his stories, his laughter and generosity. He was humble and kind. Ben loved to hear stories of back home in Newfoundland and spending his time driving his scooter to Kitsilano.
The family would like to express our thanks to his extended family at Pacific Coast apartments and a special thanks to his friend Jackie for her kindness to Ben over the years.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place when Ben arrives back home in the Mill Brook.
In Ben’s memory, please do an act of kindness for someone in need.
