J. William’s Obituary
McCormick, J. William – Age 88 of Malagash, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with his wife and sister by his side. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Maxine (Langille); daughters, Lisa (Dave) Knight, Halifax; Tracy (John) Baillie, Tatamagouche; grandchildren, Crystal, Halifax; Amanda, Danielle and Gracey, all of Tatamagouche; four great grandchildren; sister, Jeannetta (Murdock) Murray, Wentworth; nieces, Carol (Carl) Stewart, Edmonton, and Heather (Michael) Briggs, Wallace; nephews, Paul Murray, Wentworth and Neil Murray, Ontario. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary (Treen, McCormick) Sheppard and father, James McCormick; step-father, Garnet Sheppard; son, Danny; brother, Treen and his wife, Bonnie. William had a very successful career with the Canadian Salt Company starting as a very young man and eventually becoming and electrical engineer and progressing through the company to become General Manager of the mine retiring in 1994 with over 47 years-service. He enjoyed a lengthy retirement which he spent travelling all over the world with his loving wife. He also enjoyed reading, camping, playing golf and spending time with family. He will be remembered for his ability to fix or build anything, his willingness to help others and his overwhelming generosity and love for family and friends. Cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche. No visitation or funeral to be held. Interment will be at a later date in Miners’ Cemetery, Malagash.
