Obituary of Ira Cody Eirhart
In Loving Memory
Ira Cody Eirhart
October 21, 1980 – September 24, 2021
The family of Ira Cody Eirhart sadly announces his passing on Friday, September 24, 2021 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. at the age of 40 years. With Ira at the time of his passing was his Mom and Dad holding his hand and giving blessing for him to leave.
Ira is survived by his mother and Father, Georgina and Mark Cowan; brother, Shawn (Amy) and their children Claire and Adelyn; brother, David (Kim) and their children Jack and Willy; brother, Matthew (Charlotte) and their child Leo; grandma, Gladys Dahlseide; numerous Aunts and Uncles; and lots of cousins.
Ira was predeceased by his grandpa, Ken Dahlseide; father, Russell Eirhart; grandparents, Marvin and Sedell Eirhart; grandma, Anna Cowan; uncle and aunt, Terry and Faye Dahlseide; and cousin and best bud, Chaim Dahlseide.
Ira was born on October 21, 1980 in Edmonton, AB. He lived in Smoky Lake, AB. Railroad Station for the first year of his life, and moving to Edmonton, AB. for the next 16 years. Ira has also lived in Ontario with Russell, Pierceland, SK. with his grandpa and grandma, and loved living on Vancouver Island. Ira was a stone mason by trade and was authorized to work on heritage buildings. He named his favorite trowel after the hardest working woman he knew, Gladys, his grandma. The last 7 years Ira lived in Saskatoon, SK. with some challenges from a brain injury.
In Saskatoon Ira found comfort a Forest Grove Community Church in Attridge. To Ira the church felt like home and he developed some very close friendships there.
Ira had a passion for hats; a passion passed on from Russell. Ira had 16 hats ranging from: a wide brim classical, a flat cap, a fedora, a handmade derby, to your basic Blue Jays ball cap. Ira was always the best smelling dude in the bunch and could have opened a small aftershave kiosk with his collection of aftershaves.
Ira loved being a big brother and hanging out with his cousins growing up in a farm family. He will be dearly missed by all.
Donations may be made in Ira’s memory to SARBI, The Saskatchewan Association for the Rehabilitation of the Brain Injured at sarbi.ca/ or by mail to 501 45 St W, Saskatoon, SK. S7L 5Z9.
