Hilda Graves
1931-2021
Hilda Luella Graves (Dimock) May 13, 1931 – March 5th,
2021
Today, with heavy hearts, we are announcing the
passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother
Hilda Luella Graves (Dimock).
Hilda lived her life to the fullest. She was born
in Havelock, NB, on May 13, 1931, to the late Leland and Mary Dimock
(Thorne). She was predeceased by her husband Elton and her brother
Horace Dimock. She quietly passed away in her home with her two
daughters by her side on March 5th, 2021, after a lengthy battle with
cancer.
She was a long-time member of the West Lane
Baptist Church and a member of the WMS. Her faith was an anchor and
helped her through many difficult times. She was the rock of our
family and now she is home with her Lord and Savior.
She retired in her 60’s and filled her free time
with traveling around the world, knitting socks, sweaters and mittens
for her family and hats for premature babies at the hospital and
mittens for students at Beaverbrook School. She enjoyed doing puzzles
and traveling out west to spend time with her two great-granddaughters
Zoë and Prudence.
She leaves behind a son, David (Irina) Graves
residing in Portugal; two daughters, Sheila Bampton, residing in
Moncton, and Susan (Phillip) Anthony, residing in Quispamsis. She also
leaves behind granddaughters, Amanda (Jonathan) Milke, Jennifer
(Bryan) Arseneau, Julia Anthony, Jessica (Jonathan) Grimes &
Rebecca (Adam) Dempsey. She was survived by five
great-grandchildren.
There will be a private family service, with
Covid-19 restrictions in place, at the Salisbury Funeral Home
(372-4800) on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 with Pastor Scott Ryder
officiating. Interment at Greenhill Cemetery, Havelock at a later
date.
If desired, memorials to West Lane Baptist Church,
Greenhill Cemetery or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the
family.
