Obituary
On June 4, 2021, Rie Winkel, beloved mother, oma and great oma, went to be with her Lord at the age of 91 years. Rie was born in Zwolle, Netherlands in May of 1930 to Albertus and Marretje Albers, and immigrated to Canada in 1950. She married Ralph Winkel on December 13, 1953 and they settled in Edmonton where they raised 3 sons together. In her retirement years she enjoyed travelling with her husband to Arizona and Ontario to visit family and friends, as well as camping trips with the family and grandchildren. She could often be seen holding a baby or a bouquet of flowers, which both gave her immense joy.
Rie is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law: Gord and Jan, Burt and Helena, and Jack and Jo-Ann; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 47 years, Ralph; sisters: Louise and Mary; brother, Jacob; parents: Albertus and Marretje.
