Obituary for
Helen Moneta
On November 6, 2021, Helen Moneta of Edmonton, formerly of Elk Point, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, at the age of 95 years.
In 1948 Helen married Joseph Moneta. In the years that followed, Helen became a proud mother to Miranda, Wesley, Richard, Cheryl, and Aurelia. She was Baba to seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She always ready to provide support and love and worked hard to create opportunities for her family.
Helen is survived by her children, Miranda (Bill), Wes, Richard (Paula), Cheryl (Steffan), and Aurelia (David); grandchildren Shauna, Carly (Claude), Tricia (Tim), Kyle (Bella), Jasmine, Audrey and Aaron; great grandchildren Daphynie, Marlee, Nixon, Berlyn, Luka, Maxine and Ivy; and her sisters, Olga, Rose, Elizabeth, and Lillienne.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Joe; brothers, Mike, Peter, John and Emil; sisters, Anne and Tillie.
Helen was exceptional in her independence. She was a graceful gardener and was active in her neighborhood and community. She was a spirited, warm woman with a vibrant presence; Baba, friend and confidante across generations.
Special thanks to the Geriatrics team on E4 at Misericordia Community Hospital for your dedication to your work and your patients. Helen appreciated your compassion; and the family recognizes the exceptional effort you made in supporting her wishes.

Per Alberta’s Restriction Exemption Program, please be prepared to provide proof of Vaccinations (along with valid ID for those 18 and over), or proof of a negative rapid COVID test taken within 72 hours of entry, or an original medical exemption letter
