Helen Elizabeth Lutley (Bunny) passed away peacefully at age 99 on Monday February 1, 2021. Born June 1, 1921 in Brandon, Manitoba to William and Margaret Purser, Bunny spent much of her youth in Sapperton, BC where she met and married Cecil Baker Lutley on July 15, 1940. Together they owned and operated Barkley’s Service Station in New Westminster. Bunny also co-owned and operated the Style Shop with her mother, Margaret, and then sold fur coats at Woodward’s where she could always be counted on for an honest opinion. For several years, Bunny and Cece lived on a small island in the coastal community of Lund. Trips to Indio, California by car and summers spent in Peachland had them enjoying the sun they loved so much. Their 28-foot Grenfell provided beautiful days on the ocean shared with family and friends. Despite a life rich in travel and experience, the simple act of washing dishes side by side was special.
Married 60 years, Bunny was predeceased by her husband Cecil in 1997, sisters Jean (Charlie) Moore and Phyllis (Warren) Anderson and brother Bill (Wilda) Purser. Bunny is survived by her nieces and nephews and their families: Roberta Allen, Paula (Pierre) Comeau, Linda (Felix) Comeau, Gloria Hostland, Brent (Sandie) Anderson, Reid (Dieter) Anderson, Susan (Edd) Anderson, Diana (Orwell) Purser, Kendra Anderson.

There will be a small graveside service for Bunny, and a memorial will be planned for when we are able to gather. Thank you, Bunny for your steadfast loyalty, unwavering love, and wonderful example of a life well lived.
